    Easy three-ingredient peach cobbler dessert

This three-ingredient peach cobbler is still a favorite from when I first started blogging! It is such a quick and easy dessert to make since I normally have everything at home.

close up of some peach cobbler on a white plate

Seriously, these are the three ingredients!  Yellow cake mix, a large can of peaches and a stick of butter!  I've been told that in some parts of the country this is called a dump recipe.  Three ingredient peach dump recipe just doesn't sound as good!

    three ingredient peach cobbler

Oh, yea!   A super simple three-ingredient peach cobbler.   It's probably the easiest recipe I've done and it was gobbled up the quickest.  Some of you may know this by a different term.  If you are from the South, this would problably be called a peach dump cake.

If you feel like a cherry-type cobbler, I've modified this recipe for you.  Just take a look at this three ingredient cherry cobbler recipe

    Peach cobbler with cake mix

    Ingredients:

    Yellow cake mix

Large can of Peaches (29 oz)

    1 stick of butter

    Directions:

    Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

I use nonstick cooking spray on my casserole dish because it makes cleaning it later easier.  And the whole point of this recipe is to keep it easy.

Dump can of peaches into the casserole dish.  I cut a few of the thicker ones in half but you don't have to.   I've even cut the peaches in half so each piece is only about an inch wide.  But you don't have to - keep it easy!

Pour the dry cake mix on top.   Smooth it gently with a knife (or a spoon, or a fork or your fingers....)  DON'T MIX IT.  Yes, it stays dry and powdery on top of the peaches - it should like the picture below.

Cut the butter into thin slices and then spread it evenly on the cake mix.

You are done your prep.!   Now put it in the oven for 30-40 minutes.  You want it to be bubbly and the crust to be a golden brown.  And it smells sooooo good!   My kids are used to me experimenting and making stuff.  They usually ignore my newest project and roll their eyes at my excitement. {sigh} Teenagers!!   But when I made this, they came in and were looking for whatever it was that smelled so good.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Enjoy the taste, savor the smell and not even a bowl to clean!!  The only thing that would make this three-ingredient peach cobbler any better would be a scoop of ice cream : )!

If I have unsalted butter I will use that. But, it's totally fine with salted.

Made the peach cobbler today, added an extra 15 ounce can of peaches, I drained the juice. Was very yummy, quick and easy. I will definitely make again. Delicious with cool whip on top.

I use to be a manager with Tupperware and remember sharing these recipies with guests at my parties but it's been a long time and I had forgotten most of them. Thank you for reminding me. I with I'd remembered them when my church was taking food to the homeless and I was baking every Saturday. Stay well.

I made this for Thanksgiving this year and it was a huge hit! The only issue I ran into was that the spots between the butter were still flour-ey around the 30 minute mark, so I just chopped up a little bit more butter and put it anywhere that looked dry. Worked like a charm and was delicious!

I've been making it a little different, & we love it, I mix cake mix with 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts, melt butter & mix together, then crumble over top of peaches it's so awesome, no dry gritty cake mix , try it you will love it .

Well, since I had a Bundt cake pan from my Christmas fruit cake baking, I thought I'd see what happened if I made it in that pan. I dont know whether the peaches migrate to the top. If they dont and I turn it out on a shallow platter and all of them look like a "peach upside down cake", it would be just as good and also an interesting take on the pineapple version. Every time I try making this, not all of the cake mix cooks. So when you cut into it, you can actually see the cake mix in some spots. Not bad, still tastes delicious. Any ideas on how to fix that or does it do that for you too?? I think I’m cooking it long enough, the top is completely golden. Maybe more butter?

Make sure you are spreading the cake mix evenly. Perhaps even use a strainer and break up the lumps. Sometimes it happens when the cake mix is 'lumpy'. Basically, the cake mix needs to be able to absorb the butter and the liquid from the canned peaches.
Let me know if this helps!
