Air-fried foods are quick and flavorful. I've been using my air fryer for years and am making more recipes using this appliance. A few other sides I enjoy making include air fryer baked potatoes, air fryer sweet baked potatoes and these delicious air fryer cubed sweet potatoes. If you are feeling for a traditional squash recipe, try this air fried acorn squash, or this delicata squash in the air fryer recipe (It looks so colorful on your plate)!

Why I Love this Potato Recipe

The texture, with a crispy exterior and tender interior, makes these so good! Air fryer red potatoes are a dream come true for those who crave a crispy exterior with a tender interior. The hot air circulation ensures even cooking, resulting in a perfectly golden-brown crust.

They are quick and easy to prep and make. Say goodbye to long preheating times and messy oven clean-ups. Air frying red potatoes is a breeze, requiring minimal effort and only a few minutes of your time.

This is a healthier choice. Compared to traditional frying methods, air frying is a healthier option. It uses less oil, making your potatoes a guilt-free indulgence.

You can customize and have so much flavor versatility: Air fryer red potatoes are a blank canvas for endless flavor possibilities. Experiment with different seasonings, herbs, and spices to create unique and delicious dishes.

Paprika Power: Adding paprika to your air fryer red potatoes enhances the flavor and gives them a vibrant red hue, making them visually appealing and even more appetizing.

    Ingredients

Just some red-skinned potatoes and a small number of ingredients to make these delicious spuds!

Air fryer roasted red potatoes includes red potatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, olive oil and parsley as a garnish.

I use small red potatoes then cut them even smaller so they cook fast and evenly. I buy the 3 pound bag and 1 ½ pounds for this recipe .

I use regular olive oil, not extra virgin when cooking at high temperatures. Vegetable oil also works.

I like to season red potatoes with paprika to make the red color stand out and add a little extra flavor to these red skinned spuds.

Coarse salt is perfect for that salty flavor roasted potatoes need. If using fine salt, always use a little less.

Pepper and garlic powder are also flavor boosters. If you are using garlic salt, make sure you reduce the salt. Some garlic salt blends are heavy on the salt. The best way is to use less at the beginning, and you can always add once cooked if you find they are under-seasoned to your liking.

    Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 400°F. It only takes about 2 - 3 minutes. I spray the air fryer basket with no-stick spray. That is more to make clean up easier than anything else.

    Step 1
Cut red potatoes into small, evenly sized pieces. Roughly an inch big. That helps with all pieces cooking consistently timewise.

    Step 2
In a medium bowl, combine potatoes, oil, paprika, pepper, and coarse salt.

Cut up red potatoes with oil and seasonings sprinkled on top.

    Step 3
Add potatoes to the air fry tray, ensuring not to crowd them. Mix every 5 minutes to ensure even roasting. Piece the potatoes with a fork to see if the center is soft to know they are done.

    Optional
Taste potatoes and then add a light sprinkle of salt and or more paprika to taste. I like using parsley with potatoes as a garnish because I like the parsley flavor with the spuds.

    FAQs

I don't like my food too salty but my kids love salt.

Cook with a lower amount of salt. Add some salt to the portions the kids will have.

Should I peel the potatoes before air frying?

While you can peel the potatoes, leaving the skin on adds extra nutrients and texture. The skin will become crispy in the air fryer. Red potatoes tend to have a thin skin and are great left on your air fried potatoes.

    Storing and Leftovers

Place in a closed or wrapped container and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
I often use any leftover roasted red potatoes (if I have any) the next day with my eggs for breakfast.
