These air fryer pigs in a blanket are my go-to when I want something fun, fast, and delicious. They’re made with just two ingredients – crescent rolls and Lil Smokies – and they cook up in about 6 - 8 minutes in the air fryer. The outside gets golden and flaky while the inside stays juicy and savory.

This is one of those snacks that disappears as fast as you make it – especially with kids around! Whether it’s a party, a game day get-together, or just a fun after-school snack, these mini crescent roll dogs are always a win.

    Why I Love This Recipe

It only uses two ingredients – no prep and no fuss. Both can be purchased ahead and kept available for when needed.

The air fryer makes the crescent rolls perfectly browned and a little crips – almost like a croissant.

They cook in under 10 minutes.

It’s the perfect snack for parties, sleepovers, or after-school munchies.

Kids love dipping them in ketchup or mustard – adults do too!

    Ingredients

Ingredients for pigs in a blanket made in the air fryer. Includes Crescent rolls, Lil Smokies and for condiments, two small bowls of ketchup and mustard to dip.

1 package Lil Smokies (mini hot dogs – usually in the refrigerated meat section)
1 tube Crescent Rolls (I’ve used name and store brands – both work great!)

    Instructions

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F. It takes my air fryer about 3 minutes to preheat!

    Step 1
Dry the Lil Smokies using a paper towel. If they’re too wet, the dough won’t stick well.

    Step 2
    Unroll the crescent roll dough.
Separate it into the standard triangles, then cut each triangle lengthwise into three narrower strips. You want them just big enough to wrap around one mini hot dog.

    Step 3
Wrap each Lil Smokie starting from the wide end of the dough. Keep rolling until the dough is all rolled around the little hotdog.

    Step 4
Place the wrapped hot dogs on the air fryer basket. Leave a bit of space between each one. The crescent dough expands.

    Step 5
Air fry at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown. Keep an eye on them the last minute or two – different air fryer models vary slightly. Mine are usually done right at 6 minutes!

    Let cool slightly before serving.

    How to Serve

Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces. My kids tend to dip everything in ranch dressing, and sometimes, I like BBQ sauce with these.

    Can You Make These Ahead?

    You sure can!
Wrap them a few hours (2-3) ahead and store in the fridge (uncooked) on a parchment-lined tray. Then just pop them in the air fryer when you're ready to serve.

    Can You Reheat Them?

Yes – use the air fryer again!
Heat at 300°F for 3-4 minutes until warmed through. The outside crisps back up perfectly.

    Serving Tip

Place your cooked pigs in a blanket on a tray with small ramekins of ketchup and mustard in the center. My kids tend to dip everything in ranch dressing, and sometimes, I like BBQ sauce with these. Having the dips in the center makes these more colorful, and people love being able to dip!

    FAQs

Can I use a different kind of sausage?

Yes! If you use larger sausages, just cut them into smaller pieces and adjust the cooking time.

Can I make these with frozen crescent rolls?

Thaw the dough completely before using.

What is the best way to keep them warm when bringing to the party?

Use a covered casserole dish lined with parchment paper to trap heat while you transport them. Uncover and they are ready to serve!
