Red, White and Blue Trifle Dessert in individual servings
Looking for an easy red, white, and blue dessert for the weekend? Try this easy trifle style dessert. And the bonus is, there is chocolate too! This recipe is a very simplified trifle that is pretty and delicious! A trifle is an English layered dessert that can take quite a bit of time to put together. This is just as enjoyable but much easier.
6 12 oz jelly jars Or jars of your own, even of a different size.
Ingredients
4 slicesyellow cakewhite cake, or pound cake works too!
1quartstrawberriesfresh
1pintblueberriesfresh
½cupchocolate syrupthe ice cream topping time
8ozWhipped toppingor use fresh whipped cream
shaved chocolate, as garnish on topoptional
Instructions
Gauge the size of your serving container. If it's shorter, do thicker layers, or if it's taller, do two sets of the layers below.
Add small pieces of cake as the bottom layer. Drizzle some chocolate syrup on top.
Add blueberries and cut up strawberries in a thin layer.
Add a layer of whipped topping.
Notes
May be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Not suitable for freezing.Use any containers you have to make these. Plastic ones for kids, wine glasses if you are being fancy.
