This honey glazed carrot recipe proves that sometimes, the most basic ingredients can create a delicious flavorful dish. With just carrots, honey, and butter, you can whip up a side that's perfect for any occasion - from a weeknight dinner to a holiday feast. Get ready to be impressed at how quickly and easily these sweet and savory carrots come together.
¼cup butterI use salted (can use unsalted and add ⅛ teaspoon salt)
Instructions
Steam or boil cut carrots (I cut them into coins) until they are crisp tender. Note that they will be cooked a couple of minutes in the glaze. When finished, drain and set aside.
Melt butter and mix butter and honey together. Let it lightly simmer for a couple of minutes.
Add carrots back to pot and stir well. Leave it on low heat for a couple of minutes to ensure carrots are heated through. This is not a thick glaze, but a coating that adds a sweat flavor to the carrots.
Notes
Substitutions Baby carrots can be used instead of slicing carrots. Brown sugar (¼ cup, packed) can be substituted for honey.Storage Can be refrigerated for up to 4 days in a covered container.
