These Crescent Roll Peach Dumplings are your when you want a quick and easy dessert with peaches. Tender peaches wrapped in flaky dough and drizzled with a sweet sauce - all in under an hour. I use frozen peach slices in this recipe but fresh can also be used.
12ozpeach slicesPlan to use 2 frozen slices per dumpling.
I buy a small 12 oz bag of frozen slices and usually have a few left over.
1canscrescent roll dough Pillsbury is a popular brand
½cupbutter(1 stick)
¾cupswhite sugarBrown sugar can also be used
½teaspoonground cinnamonor apple pie spice
4ozSpriteLess than ½ can! Ginger Ale or Mountain Dew can be substituted.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray 8 x 8 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
I usually set out the frozen peach slices for a few minutes so they start thawing and seperate easier. We will be making 8 apple dumplings, and using 16 slicees.
Separate the crescent rolls into triangles (normally 8 per package). Roll the sliced peaches into the dough, starting with the largest end. I seal the peaches in by pinching the ends. Doesn't need to be totally sealed.
In a small saucepan on low heat, melt butter, then add sugar and cinnamon. Once sugar is dissolved, pour onto the unbaked apple dumplings.
Pour Sprite around dumplings (around edges of pan and down the middle, trying to not wash off the sugar cinnamon you just poured on).
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes
Delicious apple dessert that is made in individual servings. After baking, spoon the sauce over the apple dumplings. The sauce is delicious! Vanilla ice cream may also be served with this.Refrigerates well for up to 3 days, but I don't recommend freezing it.
