2teaspoonssour creamoptional - to make it creamier
cilantrooptional as a garnish
Instructions
Cut avocados in half and take out the seed.
Scoop out the avocado and lightly mash (a fork will do). Leave it a little chunky.
Add lime. It adds flavor and also helps slow down the browning that happens with avocado.
Add finely minced garlic, chopped onion (my family prefers finely chopped), diced tomato, salt and pepper.
Optional - add some sour cream if you would like your guac to be more creamy.
Cover well with plastic wrap. Press the plastic wrap onto the guacamole so air doesn't get at it before putting it in the fridge. Air will make it turn brown!
Let the flavors mingle for at least 2 hours before serving for best flavor!
We love using Mexican-type tortillas, which are available at most grocery stores.
Notes
Always store with plastic wrap pressed onto guacamole so air can't get to it.Will store well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days if well covered. Does not freeze well.
