Pigs in a blanket crescent rolls are a classic and easy recipe everyone loves! Whether you're hosting a party, looking for a quick snack, or making something fun for the kids, this recipe is a guaranteed hit. With just two ingredients - hot dogs and crescent roll dough—you can make these in no time.
OPTIONALCheese to stuff into the hot dogs. I use either cheddar, mozzarella or Colby Jack.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees℉
Dry the hot dogs with a paper towel. This helps the dough stick to the hot dogs.
Unroll the Crescent Roll dough, split into 8 triangles and pat dough down to create even sized pieces.
If choosing to add cheese, cut a slit in the hot dogs, not going cutting all the way to the ends. Add any of your favorite cheese (cheddar, mozzarella or colby jack are my family favorites). Wrap the dogs, starting with the wide side of the triange. When baking, have the cheese sidefacing up.
Bake roughly 15 minutes, watching carefully for when they are nicely browned. The timing may vary by a minute or two, depending on the size of your oven and how well calibrated the temperature in.
To Serve - Provide ketchup and mustard for dipping. My kids also loved Ranch dressing and BBQ sauce.
Notes
If reheating leftovers, heat them in the oven at 375 F for roughly 5 minutes. Microwaving does not work out well with the Crescent Roll Dough.
