Apple Pie Bites

These are quick and easy apple pie-inspired individual desserts. They taste delicious and take less than 30 minutes to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 tube crescent rolls Pillsbury Original
  • ¼ cup brown sugar loosely packed
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice Slightly heaping so you have some to sprinkle on top of rolled pie bites.
  • ¼ cup pecans chopped into larger chunks
  • 1 Medium apple Granny Smith
  • 2 tablespoon butter salted, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Unroll crescent rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and separate them into 8 triangles.
  • Mix brown sugar and spice mixture in a small bowl then spread onto each triangle. Spread optional pecans on triangles. I usually have some of the sugar mixture left over.
  • Cut apples into 8 (½ inch) slices. I use my apple slicer, which gives me 2 extra slices (a little snack for me). 
  • Optional step Place apples in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. I find if you don't microwave the apples, they are a little crunchy in the finished dessert. If you enjoy firmer apples in apple desserts, skip the microwaving step.
  • Melt butter and toss apple slices into warmed butter. When apple slices are covered in butter, place the apple slice on the wider edge of the crescent roll dough. Roll up the apple. The dough does not need to enclose the apple fully.
  • Brush rolls with butter and lightly sprinkle pie bites with reserved apple pie spice.

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped topping takes this dessert to the next level of deliciousness.
