Background – Buying my Fixer-Upper.
In early 2018, I purchased my new home. It was an adventure in independence and having to make my own decisions where I would have to deal with the ramifications, good or bad. When saying *I*, that truly meant me.
I fell in love with a fixer-upper. The kitchen, powder room and little laundry corner were basically gutted due to a flood when I purchased my home. Everything was in the dining room. Note the toilet under the chandelier!
I had a vision of how this house would turn out. I hired the contractors, shared my vision, made design decisions and worked with contractors and subcontractors and learned about all kinds of construction stuff. And I did it on my own. I had to. But, I’ve found I’ve been up to each challenge and I’ve enjoyed my successes.
Here are my kitchen and dining room now!
Worrying about winter.
If you don’t know, I live in Wisconsin and I was getting nervous about dealing with the snow in the upcoming winter. I’d have to deal with the snow by myself. If there was a snowfall, I’d have to take care of it so I could get to work. What to do, what to do?
I was wandering through a big box store one day, and I saw it! My lawnmower had a winter cousin, a snowblower! Same brand – EGO POWER+ and the controls even looked the same (whew, this snowblower didn’t look complicated to use!). A few days later, my EGO POWER+ snowblower showed up at my backdoor.
Was it easy to assemble the snowblower?
I opened the box, moved the handle up and attached the snow chute with the provided Allan wrench. I also had to hand tighten two knobs. It took me all of 5 minutes. It had the same batteries and charger as my lawnmower.
How do you charge the batteries and how long does it take?
There are two batteries in this snowblower. They are easy to remove from the battery compartment, charge and install. Note that there is only one charger with the snowblower. I have a second one that came with my lawnmower so I can charge both at the same time (about 45 minutes for a full charge). It is really easy to charge these batteries. Plug in the charger and insert the battery into the charger. When the four lights are green, it’s charged (45 minutes). The picture below shows how the two batteries are installed in the snowblower. Honestly, you just push the battery in until it clicks. Just like it tells you! Then you are ready to go!
Is this EGO POWER+ cordless electric snowblower easy to use?
We did get some snow a few days ago. This snowblower was so easy to use! I’m ready for a snowstorm now! I’ll admit, it did feel light when I took it out of the box. I’ve found that because it is lighter, that ended up being a plus when using it. I was able to easily maneuver it around corners and into tight spots. The controls are super easy. The instructions are even on the handle.
How did you test the snowblower?
At the time of writing this post, I’ve used the snowblower for three snowfalls. Twice where the snow was about 2 inches. The third time it was between 4 to 6 inches (depending on where you were in my yard).
My yard is .33 of an acre and it’s a bit of a pie shaped lot. I have a long sidewalk along the front of my yard plus the driveway. I was easily able to clear my driveway and all my sidewalks on one battery charge. Yes, I can maintain my wintery yard in Wisconsin. Honestly, the snowblower seemed to work better, the deeper the snow!
And, my buddy Sky, liked that the snow was cleared too! He was ready to play. And, since it was so easy to clear the snow, so was I!
I’m ready for the worst winter can hit us with. And, am confident my EGO POWER+ snowblower and I can handle it! You never know what the weather will do in Wisconsin.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…
And then it did!
A couple more pictures showing how the EGO POWER+ worked in deeper snow. The deeper the snow, the further it threw it. A piece of advice, make sure you work with the wind. If you don’t, the wind will blow the snow back at you and you’ll feel like a snowman when you are done.
The snow was deeper and more packed on my sidewalk closer to the road. Some of the plowed snow had accumulated there and was heavier than the other snow in my yard. It was just as easy to use this snowblower in the heavier, deeper snow. In fact, it seemed the deeper the snow was, the further that this snow blower threw it.
Would you recommend this cordless electric snowblower?
Absolutely! This EGO POWER+ snowblower made removing the snow so easy! Not only was it easy, but it took less time than I expected to clear my driveway and my long sidewalk. It has turned a chore I dreaded to an enjoyable outside activity. I have no concerns about more snow!
Does EGO POWER+ have other products?
Yes! Take a look at the EGO POWER+ website. I also have the lawnmower which I love. Cutting my lawn and snow blowing are no longer things I worry about. I’ve got this (with a little help from EGO)!
Enjoy the rest of your winter everyone!

We’ve had more snow since I wrote this post. I really do love this snowblower!!
Absolutely, go check out that lawnmower. It works really well and it is so easy to manage!
I am the main snowblower in my family and am very interested in this snowblower. The fact that it’s easy to maneuver and cleans up well is a bonus.
Wow! I love to snow blow, but it’s kind of a pain to start my gas blower. This one looks much easier to start. I’ll have to check it out!
Your home looks amazing and although I’d never be in need of a snowblower in Miami I’ll head over and check out the lawnmower!
You go girl. Since my husband travels I sometimes have to clear the snow on our long steep driveway. We have a gas powered snowblower but it may be time to get a new one. This one looks great. Thanks for sharing.
