Once late summer hits, I don't like buying more plants. I start just trying to use what I have.  Recycle, reuse what is in your garden!

This is what I started with!  Taking out tired summer planting and swapping for fall!

My summer planters become fall planters in stages.  Swap out tired summer flowers for fall ones!

Keep any tall grasses you had in your summer planters.

Keep your marigolds.  They are the perfect fall color!

Add pumpkins.  Pie pumpkins are inexpensive!

Plant some mums.  Often the little ones give a big pop of color!

Fill in bare spots with dried hydrangeas from your garden.

Autumn joy sedum can be cut and added to your fall planter too!
