The Bad – Recipe Fail. The Good – iPad Mini Giveaway!

Hi Everyone,

So, I was really excited to try this new recipe I heard about.   Just peaches and angel food cake.   Apparently it was easy and turns out wonderfully.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t so lucky!

People have asked me if all my recipes always work out.  Honestly, most do!  And it’s funny because usually people tell me them with very rough directions.   But, if you cook and bake regularly, you can usually figure it out.  So, I wasn’t at all worried when I was told to try to make this recipe.

Ingredients:

Peaches

Angel Food Cake Mix.

Directions:

Mix the peaches and angel food cake mix and pour it in a bundt cake.  Bake according to box directions.

I was smart enough to figure out that I should chop up the peach slices.  So I did!

Well, I can tell you that this recipe does taste good but I certainly wouldn’t call it a success.  Much to my disappointment : (.

I think I would maybe throw the peaches in a blender and coarsely blend them?  They all sank to the bottom.  So when you flip the cake, they are all on the top and it’s soggy on top.  Maybe it’s supposed to be like that?  I’ve made many two and three ingredient muffins but this one, I’m not sure about.

try the southern cobbler recipe with canned peaches. 2 cups self rising flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 stick butter/margarine melted, 1 cup milk, mix all, drain peaches & pour on top. bake till brown. yummy!

I have tried the recipe with pie filling but not fruit. I also used a a sheet cake pan instead of a bundt pan.
Sorry that it didn’t turn out well because it looks like it would be yummy!

The recepie I heard about with angel food cake mix was a can of pie filling, not just the fruit. I dont know if this helps!

Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. This reminds me of some of the “dump” cakes my daughter makes. I know you are disappointed in it but it really does look like it is tasty. I invite you to share at my Thursday Blog Hop ( starts tonight, Wednesday, at 8PM MST) Hugs!

Looks good online. Sort of reminds me of dump cake. The kind where you put the peaches on the bottom then regular cake mix and butter. This looks like the healthy version. My friend’s mom calls it “Peach Delite”
    :)
